 Virtually all vacuum tubes are prone to distortion caused
by microphonic vibrations. To overcome audible distortions, vibration-absorbing isolation pads are held
firmly against the vacuum tube by a firm-yet-flexible C
-ring. The audio result is astounding: the tube's sound is
made more clear and precise, less fuzzy and less harsh. Tonal qualities are rendered more true and natural,
subtle passages more distinguishable. Three-dimensional qualities are better focused. Improvements
occur evenly throughout the audio spectrum, from the deepest bass through the highest frequencies,
outperforming ordinary tube dampers by leaps and bounds.
Tube diameters and shapes vary among manufacturers. To estimate your tube diameter,
just place a wooden or metal ruler against the side of your tube and "eyeball" the size.
Or measure the circumference and divide by pi (3.14). For tubes with diameters in
-between two HAL-O sizes, the smaller size is recommended.
