Bryston BCD-3

When asked why they bother to produce a stand alone CD player in this modern era of high resolution music and streaming, they are reminded of several reasons. First is that so many of us have massive CD collections that are as capable of sparking joy today as they were years ago when first purchased. CDs can sound unbelievably good--a testament to their ability to continue to out sell digital downloads. Finally remember that for so many music lovers, learning a new digital playback method simply gets in the way of enjoying music. If any of these resonate with you, perhaps the BCD-3 will be the last CD player you'll ever need.

The BCD-3 is a state of the art CD player capable of playing commercially produced audio CDs and burned CD-R and CD-RW discs. Discs are loaded through the motorized drawer type transport mechanism. Both digital and analog audio outputs are provided facilitating connection to analog preamplifiers and digital-to-analog converters. Internal digital to analog conversion is with a balanced pair of high quality ICs. The optical pickup and DAC are clocked by a single high precision quartz oscillator operating at a natural multiple of the 44.1kHz sampling frequency specified by the CD format.
